truly beautiful.

an old spanish man whom i gave the time and effort to communicate with responded with such genuine friendship and affection that i'm reminded of the things i value in human interaction.

amidst all the thinly veiled cultural one-up man ship taking place at the 'multi-cultural' evening I was working, here was a bastion of the old-world, making an unforgettable paella that i hope to emulate one day.

he has invited my small family of two to his place for a dose of the country and too much vino, i will not forget to go this time.

we all have those things we told ourselves we'd do when we heard of them, then one day remember, with clarity, that instant we have let slip. not this time.
